A common geometry for all templates can now be defined and templates can be filtered according to attributes, enabling the user to classify the templates according to operation type. SolidCAM templates, which are being used extensively to automate repetitive CAM programming tasks, are enhanced in the new version. SolidCAM thus powers up SolidWorks into the best integrated CAD/CAM solution. SolidCAM’s full associativity leverages SolidWorks configuration management to automatically update the CNC tool paths for the different product variations. All geometries used for machining are fully associative with the SolidWorks model - when the geometry of the design is modified, SolidCAM automatically synchronizes all machining operations with the updated geometry, thus ensuring the automatic update of tool paths for CAD revisions.
